Microsoft Access Data Objects Issues

Common Causes and Resolutions

You may receive an error message "Error 430: Class Does Not Support Automation" or another indication that Microsoft Office is unable to support an OpenGate product.  This page describes the causes and resolutions to this issue.

Scope:  This issue only affects evaluation copies of OpenGate products, or any Microsoft Access database that is compiled into an MDE/ACCDE format.  The issue only affects Access 2007 and 2010.

Access 2007
The most common cause for Access 2007 are problems with the Access 2007 upgrade/installation on a machine.  Running the Office Repair and Diagnostics utility corrects the issue.

Access 2010
Microsoft Office 2010 SP1 introduced an issue with backward compatibility in a key set of libraries that many Access products require.  Specifically, Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects libraries.  Microsoft has acknowledged the issue, and plans to correct it in 2012.  In the meantime, please contact OpenGate Support and we will be happy to provide you with an alternate version of the trial software that circumvents the issue.
